                Who is “Holy Mother Han”?

                In his 10/10/25 Bitter Winter journal article, internationally respected scholar & human rights activist Massimo Introvigne described “Mother Han” as the “co- founder and spiritual leader of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification” a “global movement rooted in principles of peace, family unity, and interfaith cooperation” known “as the Mother of Peace to millions” who “has met with world leaders, spoken at the United Nations, and launched humanitarian initiatives across continents.”

                If Massimo described her as “Mother Han”, where does the “Holy” come from?

                Pastor Paula White, President & Founder of the National Faith Advisory Board who currently serves as Senior Advisor to the President in the White House Faith Office (located in the West wing) on the World Christian Leadership Conference’s “Gathering of the Holy with Holy Mother Han” globally broadcast 6.25.25 said: “I believe that Dr. Han will soon enter North Korea again, and I want to go with her. I believe one day Chairman Kim and President Donald J. Trump will meet again not as adversaries, but as instruments of God’s Peace. This is the   calling of our time.”   

                Paula described her as “Dr.Han” and later in the same broadcast “Mother Han”, so again, where does the “Holy” come from?

              Bishop Noel Jones, Senior Pastor of the Los Angeles megachurch “City of Refuge Ministries”, in an American Christian Leadership Conference Convocation held in Las Vegas, June 2019, explained it this way: “We each have our own interpretation of our calling. I have to decide what I’m going to call myself in light of God. Mother’s interpretation of her calling is not within what we call the norm… But you don’t judge a tree by its branches or it’s leaves. You judge a tree by its fruit. And there’s nobody in here that can deny the significance of the fruit that we have seen exhibited by her response to her calling.”

                But perhaps the best way to understand who is “Holy Mother Han” is to hear in her own words what she means and why she can say it.  This is provided in the following partial recap of “Songs of Freedom 1” a 2-hour live streamed national event held 9.21.25 in New York where Rev. Demian Dunkley conveys Mother’s heart and her own beautiful reminisces of her life in her own words, given just days before. Since 2023 Rev. Dunkley has been serving the dual roles of Chairman and President of Family Federation USA.

Rev. Dunkley asked the question: “So what do we know about mother?”

Rev. Dunkley’s answer: “She does not live an ordinary life. True Mother sees herself as someone who lives not in the ordinary world, but in the area of  ‘holy of holies’ – a sacred domain of heaven. She has consistently declared: ‘I am not a normal person’, meaning, her life is wholly dedicated to fulfilling God’s Providence. Her words, her decisions and her actions are guided by divine mission, not personal interest.”

Rev. Dunkley then went on to explain several things before starting to extensively quote her own words in her reminisces. 

He said that she was born in a providential moment. She was born in 1943 during the final years of World War 2 – a time carefully prepared by heaven. Her birth marks the emergence of the only begotten daughter – the long-awaited counterpart to the only begotten son. She believes her birth fulfilled what God had been preparing for 6000 years, a daughter through whom God could finally establish his lineage on the earth.

She testifies to the failure, the missing aspect of Christianity. She explains that Christianity failed to fully understand the essence of Jesus and that mistakes have been made in the past 2000 years. She asserts that World Christianity was meant to unite with her, not oppose her.

She has particularly pointed out that Korean Christianity has been challenged in this department, but it must awaken to its role in the present providence.

After explaining all these things, Rev. Dunkley went on to extensively quote Mother Han in her own words during her reminisces of her life.

“Now, I’m getting older. But before it is too late It is essential that I at least created an environment Beginning with a house” she said; that house wass  “a house for God, our Heavenly Parent, that is the Temple, that is the start”. So, what Demian clearly felt Mother’s saying was –  ‘If this is as far as I can go …  That is the start.’

                How did this start come about?  She said:

“In order to do that, I worked so hard. I made many efforts. And so, from the Christian realm, I decided to liberate Africa first. I went first to Senegal, which is a Muslim country… I met the leaders of that country, and they welcomed me, and they said they would become my sons.”

The whole bitterly sorrowful story with details can be found beginning on page 291 of her memoir, the Mother of Peace,  in the section subtitled: “God’s Embrace Ends All Tears.”

Mother Han continued:  “Within Christian history, Africa went through the most painful history. Christians, who were supposed to bring the love of Jesus seized the youth of Africa, and used them as slaves. Like Goree Island. When I went there, my heart ached. So I liberated them. Never should such things occur again.”

Who can say such things? I believe, only the female counterpart of Jesus, the only begotten son, could say such things. Who would be the female counterpart of the only begotten son?  The only begotten daughter.

Mother Han went on to say:  “America is a representative country and particularly through the foundation of the Christian clergy, the American Christian Leadership Conference (ACLC), when I first announced my status as the only begotten daughter, they received me. They welcomed me.”

Again, the story of the foundation of the ACLC is all detailed and articulated in her memoir, the Mother of Peace.

In a new book entitled “The Value of True Parent in Heaven’s Providence”, Mother Han explains what she has been teaching Christians:

“Most Christians are not aware of the preparations that were made to receive the Only Begotten Daughter throughout Christianity’s 2,000-year history. Jesus Christ, the Messiah whom God had sent, said, “I will come again.” This tells us of his desire to return for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Coming for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb means that he comes to meet his intended bride. It means that Jesus Christ, who was born as the Only Begotten Son, comes to meet the Only Begotten Daughter. That is the meaning of “I will come again.” True Parents, the Only Begotten Daughter! This is who the Christians’ 2,000 years of devotions have given birth to.” 

Holy Mother Han was born from 3 generations of fervent Christian believers in Korea who had been especially ignited in the flames of revival by Presbyterian missionaries from America. In her reminisce, Mother Han went on to say:

“I was born in 1943. The American Presbyterian Church entered Korea centering in Pyongyang. In the early part of the century, Pyongyang was going through a spiritual revival. American missionaries came. Presbyterian, missionaries were spreading a revival across the country. The missionaries who came from America saw how difficult and dire the situation was in Korea. They had to risk their lives to conduct their missionary activities. But they decided to remain in Korea, regardless of the situation… I think they could really feel that Korea was a special country.”

“I knew who I was, after I was born. I knew that I was God’s daughter. There were many people who met me and gave testimonies about this as well.”

Multiple testimonies and revelations are found detailing this in The Mother of Peace.

How is it that the UN Intervention happened that saved Korea?  She reminisced more:

“Think of it. How could the 16 UN member nations come and shed their blood to protect this small country, and helped to protect the formation of democracy in Korea.  It was because of God’s protection. However, the Korean government seems to be forgetting the gratitude they should have for those young men who sacrificed their lives.”

For what? To protect democracy, to protect freedom, regardless of who they may be, regardless of what party they may be affiliated with. That’s why 36,000 of our young American soldiers sacrificed their lives in Korea. Why? The key point is that the only begotten daughter had to be protected until she could reach maturity – that is why Heaven protected Korea at that time. This is essential knowledge from the “Epic History of the Chosen Han People of Korea”  that Korean people and all people need to understand today to bring about a world of peace.

What was so essential, what had to happen, when she reached maturity? The realization of True Parents, which had to happen in order to realize one global family under God. Mother Han put it this way in her reminisces that day about her long and difficult decision to accept God’s request to marry a much older man in order to establish Heaven’s long desired dream of True Parents:

“As a person who knew well the pain that God had to endure for 6000 years, I had to make a resolution. To be frank, it was really difficult….I was only 16 years old. My husband was almost 40, and from the secular point of view, he also had a lot of issues. The completion of God’s Providence is through the only begotten daughter.” Because of that, “I made my determination a resolution. And so, I came forward and I said, ‘I will do so’. That is how True Parents came to emerge. And through me, Blessed Families could be born.”

From there, True Parents had to go out to the world, in a situation where the Soviet Union was communizing people globally.  Mother Han talked about how many people in Europe were tense, and the young people who heard the Divine Principle back then, under those circumstances, in those countries that were already communized in Europe, went underground, and some even went to jail, even one person died in prison. Some were later released. 

Mother reminisced: “we have such members who suffered such things.”

She said: “You probably know about this, don’t you? You probably know about the Butterfly Missions, don’t you?”  She said: “I believe that some of them are still in good health and that their children are also growing well”.

Rev. Dunkley then explains the contexts of these reminisces of her life. Rev. Dunkley says:

“What I’m trying to tell you, beyond what you hear in Mothers’ words, what I’m trying to convey to you, is what I was experiencing, as Mother’s just come out of this horrible day-long interrogation. And then hounded by the media, treated like a commoner, less than, not even shown the respect of a normal citizen…. And she’s talking about the butterfly missions, and just like when she was talking about the second and third generations around the world, she’s comforted to know that they’re going well…

She’s also thinking, she believes, still, there’s still a couple of those butterfly missionaries alive, their children are growing well….” 

So mother’s reflecting on these missionaries [of the ‘Butterfly Missions’ sent covertly into communized Eastern Europe.  And then she said: “When America faced the threat of being communized, and considering that America was blessed by God and living well, at that time, they were developing a culture of individualism. Drug problems arose. The family breakdown became a problem, and the hippies.”

She said: “…the hippies, who had kind of given up on life”. Demian said : I mean, I think any hippies in the crowd, you probably would say that you were “searching”, but you can see that there was a whole generation that kind of gave up on status quo – right? – gave up. So Mother caught this, as they had given up on life, right?  Mother said: “So while they were wandering around without direction, it was really essential that the Christian foundation be revived, otherwise, God’s Providence would be lengthened.”

That’s exactly where I was at. And that’s exactly where my story and my wife’s story begins to intersect with her story where Mother saved the US from communism, and the story of the Hippies.

The July 1, 1971 Headline in the News-Palladium of Benton Harbor, Michigan was “Doctor’s Career Nipped in Bud by Fatal Crash”. That was Craig Michael Child, my older brother, who had served as a doctor in the US Army in Germany, and who was on his way to the airport to catch a plane to Texas to find me at the time, according to the story his widow, Linda Fenderbosh Child, later told me.

I was “lost” at the time, “wandering” as a “hippie”. And I remained lost and wandering for 5 more years until Mother Han, through the agency of my spiritual father Dana Carros,  found me in 1976 laying on the grass on in front of the University of Texas at Austin’s famous Tower which housed over 1 million secular books, some of which I was studying at the time to find answers to questions which I could never discover until hearing the Divine Principle.

11 years later to the day of my brother’s fatal crash – July 1 – in 1982, Hisae and I were blessed in marriage in Madison Square Garden, New York, completing the process of being “found” started by my brother 11 years earlier, who in my view, even 54 years later, gave up his life for this very cause.

My wife’s story is similar. 4 years before I joined Family Federation in 1976 in the USA, she joined the Victory Over Communism movement in Japan in 1972, firmly convinced and speaking out that communism was wrong.

The core essential truth that she learned then, and I learned later, is eloquently stated on page 200 of Mother of Peace:

“During the 70 years since the 1917 Bol shevik Revolution, as communist governments took control of a third of the world’s population, the blood of hundreds of millions of people had been shed. At long last, the Soviet Union lowered its red flag, its atheis tic worldview discredited. When the Soviet dictatorship declared its own demise, the communist assertion that progress takes place through class conflict, struggle and hatred, was revealed as totally false.”

Hak Ja Han, as a North Korean refugee from communism who escaped over the DMZ at age 6 together with her mother and grandmother clearly knows communism.

Honoring and identifying whole heartedly Holy Mother Han’s teaching, this is our couples warning to the world based on our lifelong experience in the Family Federation movement: sadly, the Marxist worldview has infected American culture and values today contributing to an increasing tide of public violence, precisely as asserted and promoted by communist ideology.  The communist may have lost the ideological battle to “Victory Over Communism”, but appears to be winning the battle of values and culture. The Las Vegas Review-Journal’s (LVRV) “Opinion” 9.22.25 revealed that “one of the most influential books in U.S. teacher-training courses”  is the ”Pedagogy of the Oppressed” by Paulo Freire, a Brazilian Marxist” which “starts with a rejection of absolute truth” and “embraces the false dichotomy that the world is divided between oppressed and oppressor” and claims that “a society promoting its values, such as free speech, harms the ‘oppressed’ and that teaching is viewed by the child “as an active threat” meant to keep them oppressed.   In a plea for the restoration of civil discourse in society the LVRJ states that  “Charlie Kirk warned in a video before his death”  that “when you stop having a human connection with someone you disagree with, it becomes a lot easier to want to commit violence against that group.”

Charlie Kirk was assassinated by just such violence in a Utah University just 3 days after directly speaking out against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its false violence-promoting Marxist ideology in public rallies and at Christian pulpits in several places in South Korea.

Hisae and I were “saved” from this false Marxist thinking in the early 1970’s, as was the nation of Japan, as was the nation of the United States, at that time,  through Holy Mother Han and her husband’s, known as “True Parents”, tours and teachings.  We were also Blessed by them in marriage, as were thousands of others. Our countries were only two among the over one hundred nations they toured and impacted in their lifetimes.

The world today definitely needs to continue to be saved, this time from the advance of false Marxist violence-inciting-thinking no longer promoted by the long defunct Soviet Union, but now actively promoted through media, culture, education, and terror globally by the CCP. We absolutely need the “global movement rooted in principles of peace, family unity, and interfaith cooperation” as the only antidote strong enough to save us from the poison of the CCP’s false Marxist culture of conflict, violence and death.

When you read her memoir, “Mother of Peace”, you will be able to clearly see Mother’s heart of generosity. Mother has always given things away – everything –  even her wedding ring.

Ultimately, Mother’s mission has never been for herself. Rev. Dunkley said in her reminisces this time she said clearly: ‘At this age, I’ve given everything. What else would I want? What else do I need?  My life has not been driven by ambition, but mission, specifically to liberate humanity and to fulfill God’s dream.’

Rev. Dunkley then asks: “So what’s her legacy?”

His answer: “True Mother wants to harvest the full meaning of God’s Providence before she passes into the spirit world. She hopes that the youth and the blessed families will stand proudly as representatives of heaven and bring joy to Heavenly Parent.”

And, he reminds us: “Now, by the way, if you want to bring joy to Heavenly Parent, your joy’s got to be a part of that recipe. You’re not going to be able to bring joy by suffering your way into heaven. Those years are over. They were supposed to be over decades ago.”

Let’s really attend Heavenly Parent with joy. Mother’s vision is not that just of a church, but of a world transformed by love where God is attended as the Parent of all people.
