It would be best to concede from the very beginning that most – if not all of us – have not understood the essence of things. 

We haven’t understood the essence of God, if we are believers, and haven’t even understood the essence of material, if we are non-believers. If we are Christians, we haven’t understood the essence of Jesus, and therefore, the essence of Christianity.  As children, we never really understood the essence of parents, so that when we became parents, we couldn’t understand the essence of true parents.

If we can have a slice of this humble pie, then I believe we can begin to understand why Heavenly Mother has been hidden so long, even though right in front of us all along. As the saying goes, “There are none so blind as those who will not see”. What I am saying is that every step of the way of this explanation, you can expect there to be obstructions coming from a lack of understanding about the essence of things.  Also, even if I have to use unfamiliar words and concepts at first, you will come to understand everything as things unfold.  I can promise that if you persevere you will become aware of what an amazing and historical dream it is to be substantially attending and living with Heavenly Mother. This is not something I can keep to myself!  As you become one with Mother, peace will come to your family, the nation and the world. 

Love, they say, makes the world go round. However, in order to love, there must be a counterpart to receive the love. So the Creator, Heavenly Parent (Heavenly Father + Heavenly Mother = Heavenly Parent), in the quiet state before the Creation, felt an earnest desire for such a partner for sharing love and began to envision what that partner should be like. The center of the concept of Creation was true parents, in the Creator’s image, who would realize Heavenly Parent’s dream together. The Creator would let them pass through a period of growth to reach perfection. 

First, Heavenly Parent’s ideal of true parents originated from Heavenly Parent’s shimjeong (heart). Shimjeong is an emotional impulse to love endlessly – the source of true love that cannot be suppressed – a love that longs to give and give to others, and then forgets what has been given. Since the center of the concept of creation was true parents – with this heart as the motivation – the expansion of the Universe began with the Big Bang, alongside of which was the equally Big Bang of Heavenly Parent’s infinite heart exploding in the earnest search for partners with whom to share love. 

Second, those who realize the ideal of true parents together with Heavenly Parent are born as direct sons and daughters of Heavenly Parent – beings who resemble Heavenly Parent with a character grounded in love. What kind of being most closely resembles Heavenly Parent?  It is none other than those born as Heavenly Parent’s unique and direct son and daughter, the Only Begotten Son and Only Begotten Daughter. Many are familiar with Jesus as the Only Begotten Son, but most need to catch up with the breaking news of the Only Begotten Daughter, referred to as “the bride who made herself ready” when Jesus promised to return and hold the “Marriage Supper of the Lamb”.  

Third, Heavenly Parent’s ideal of true parents is realized through human beings successfully completing their growing period. Aside from human beings, the things of creation grow to perfection naturally over time following the laws of nature. However, because human beings have not only a physical body but also a spirit body, they must experience the heart of Heavenly Parent during their period of growth, understand the principles of creation, and practice those principles in order to reach perfection. As for example with gravity, it’s not a requirement at first for people even to believe in the spiritual world (or gravity, for that matter) for the spiritual world (or gravity) to exist and operate as usual.  They still exist, whether people believe in them or not. Fortunately, while people are working to complete their spiritual growth through their own conscious effort, and advance to the state of perfection, Heavenly Parent remains with them and protects them while waiting for them to complete their growth. 

Fourth, Heavenly Parent’s ideal of True Parents is realized when the Only Begotten Son and Only Begotten Daughter who have completed their growing period, become a couple and form a family centered on Heavenly Parent’s love. Here’s a key point: while the Only Begotten Son and Only Begotten Daughter separately resemble Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother respectively, it is only through their Holy Wedding – in other words, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb – that they become the image of Heavenly Parent. In other words, through their Holy Wedding they come to be a true couple and, living  with oneness of heart and oneness of body, oneness of thought and oneness in harmony, come to fully resemble Heavenly Parent. It means they become Heavenly Parent’s body, present within their love and their lives, giving birth to children together, becoming the True Parents, and forming a true family which can expand infinitely to tribes, peoples, nations, the world and universe, realizing one family under and attending Heavenly Parent. This is none other than the kingdom of heaven on earth and in the spirit world.

Fifth, the most basic unit in the global community is the family. When Heavenly Parent’s ideal of True Parents is realized, families will attend Heavenly Parent substantially.  Children grow up in the environment of a family, which is the place where Heavenly Parent’s four major realms of heart and love can be experienced: the love of children, the love of siblings, conjugal love and parental love. The family is like a school of love, so as people go through their lives from the stage of children to the stage of parents, they experience Heavenly Parent’s love and their hearts come to resemble Heavenly Parent’s heart.  In families where Heavenly Parent is at the center, people experience about the dynamics of horizontal relationships, such as those among siblings, but also vertical relationships such as those between parents and children, and then can use that understanding to guide their relationships in society. In this way, based on their experience in their families, people multiply the realms of heart of children, siblings, and parents throughout the world, with the result that the world comes to be one global family attending Heavenly Parent. 

Sixth, after the advent of True Parents, Heavenly Parent’s ideal of true parents is passed down to ensuing generations, and becomes the model for all people to emulate and practice in their lives. Children who have inherited the love, life and lineage of True Parents who have become one with Heavenly Parent grow up by following the example of True Parents, perfect their individuality, form true families, and join together in the loving dominion over all things of creation. Because True Parents are the first true ancestors of humanity, even when their children realize the ideal of true parents in their own lives, this will not change the fact that they are children of True Parents, who are the absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal root. 

Seventh, Cheong Il Guk – the nation where two people – a husband and a wife – become one, is the ideal world of creation being developed by blessed families who are one with True Parents. When the heart of the True Parents resonates with the hearts of their children – all of humankind – we will see the three aspects of the human heart – emotion, intellect, and will – focusing on the same destination, that is, the purpose of creation. The values of beauty, truth, and goodness pursued by emotion, intellect, and will are expressed in various aspects of human culture, such as the arts, science, philosophy, and ethics.  Ultimately, a world of the culture of heart is formed, based on the shimjeong (heart) of True Parents. Looking at this world of the culture of the heart from a broad perspective, we can see that True Parents stand in the position of its heart, much as the human heart is at the core of the human being.  Therefore, Cheon Il Guk is a nation and world that resembles True Parents. 

In short, Heavenly Mother has remained hidden so long because we have had to go through several stages of realization to get to it, like peeling the layers of an onion.  First, God revealed there was an only begotten son. Standing on that essential foundation, the only begotten son could then later reveal God as Heavenly Father.  The people, however, neither understanding the essence of God nor of Jesus, clinging to their old conceptions, became so upset at these two revelations that they crucified the one whom God sent.  Two thousand years later, God revealed there was an only begotten daughter.  Standing on that essential foundation,  the only begotten daughter could then reveal God first as Heavenly Parent. then later, peel back the final layer of the onion and reveal God as Heavenly Mother.
